1958 - 1964 Works as drawing teacher at the teacher's college in Bergen
Commissions for monumental work i.e. murals and windows in Opmeer and Wervershoof, a tapestry in Edinburgh (Scotland) in coorporation with "Sterk", a concrete firm at Alkmaar, a Station of the Cross in concrete relief for a church in Hoogland and a large glass-in-concrete window for a school in Noordwijk;

1964 Retires from teaching to devote himself fully to painting: his first very somber pallet has completely changed, color and light now have become very important: in the outdoors he makes sketches and water-colors, which he transforms in his studio into oil paintings;

1965 Through the purchase of a boat he is able to explore his favorite subject: polders, puddles and lakes;

1966 Studies light and space especially in Greece;

1970 Influenced by Cézanne he makes study trips with
his wife to the Provence where he mainly produces water colors;
